AWAKENING is the first charity-conscious daytime beach gathering in Tulum, created to generate concrete and measurable impact for the local community. Developed in collaboration with Set Underground and Mr. Afterparty, the project goes beyond the concept of a traditional party, combining music, wellness, and collective action into a shared experience with a clear purpose.
The initiative was born in response to one of the most pressing issues affecting Tulum’s beach area: the absence of safe walking and cycling space along the main beach road. Every day, residents and visitors are forced to walk directly alongside traffic, creating safety risks and contributing to congestion. Due to environmental regulations, permanent construction and concrete infrastructure are not permitted in this area, making conventional solutions unfeasible.
AWAKENING supports an immediate, low-impact alternative by creating a clearly defined, walkable sand path along the beach road. The intervention consists of cleaning, leveling, and marking a safe route, carried out by local workers as part of ongoing community maintenance. This approach allows for visible, functional results without altering the natural environment.
Each entry contribution directly translates into meters of beach road repaired. A 5 USD general entry purchased online contributes to approximately 190 meters repaired between Ahau and Papaya Playa. A 10 USD general entry at the door contributes to approximately 375 meters repaired from Ahau to halfway toward Hartwood. A 15 USD backstage entry purchased online contributes to approximately 560 meters repaired from Ahau to near Hartwood. A 20 USD backstage entry purchased at the door contributes to approximately 750 meters repaired from Papaya Playa to Hartwood.
Alongside the music program, the day includes a full schedule of wellness and healing activities developed in collaboration with Ahau Tulum and I Am Love Tulum. Sessions begin at 8:00 AM with Indian Yoga, followed by a Sound Bath and Breathwork session at 9:30 AM. Ice bath sessions take place between 3:00 and 5:00 PM, followed by Aerial Silks at 4:00 PM and a Temazcal ceremony at sunset at 5:00 PM.

AWAKENING is not positioned as another beach event, but as a collective effort where participation directly contributes to improving a critical part of Tulum’s infrastructure. Attendees take part in a full day of music, wellness, and community connection while actively supporting a practical solution to a local challenge.
The gathering takes place on Tulum Beach on Thursday, January 8th, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with morning wellness sessions beginning at 8:00 AM
