3 Smoked Olives Festival Relocates to the Majestic Landscapes of Romania, Extending Dates for Enhanced Experience

Dear Festival Enthusiasts and Attendees,

Throughout numerous vibrant and demanding editions, the dance arena of 3 Smoked Olives Island Festival was enchanted under the open skies. Due to logistical challenges and unpredictable water levels, along with the island’s status as a protected natural area, the festival team has been prompted to innovate and rise above these difficulties, ensuring the community continues to thrive.

A new chapter beckons in this magical journey… This year, the festival embarks on a fresh adventure to a mesmerizing new location in Brasov, where mountains reach for the heavens, lakes mirror the starlit sky, and forests sway alongside the dance steps. The festival is not only transitioning to a more stunning environment but is also expanding the event dates from August 1-5 to August 1-6, providing more opportunities for attendees to dive into the enchanting experience.

Why the Relocation?

The festival’s dedication to ecological preservation and honoring protected areas motivated this pivotal move. After a decade at the former island venue, it became evident that remaining there would compromise environmental and logistical principles. The changing water levels of the Danube and strict regulations increasingly challenged the ability to host the idyllic festival envisioned.

Fueled by passion and driven by dreams, 3 Smoked Olives has discovered a venue that not only meets expectations but enhances the festival experience for everyone. This relocation reaffirms the festival’s commitment to fostering a vibrant international community united by music, dance, and wellness. Last year, attendees from over 32 countries were welcomed, and the festival aims to grow as a boutique event celebrated for its diverse participation.

Why Choose Brașov?

While cherished memories of the island venue remain, Brașov offers superior benefits. Cooler temperatures, breathtaking mountain vistas, and lush surroundings promise a more immersive and comfortable festival experience. Upgraded facilities, including hot showers, will ensure a memorable experience for all guests.

Strategically situated, Brașov is easily reachable, removing the need for boat transport and facilitating straightforward access from major urban centers. The region’s scenic lakes are perfect for safe water sports, while cooler evenings and abundant shade enhance comfort and privacy. Improved emergency services and a lower risk of overheating further ensure the safety and enjoyment of the festival.

The Visionaries Behind the Magic

Constantin Ionita, the originator of 3 Smoked Olives, began this electronic music odyssey in 2011, fueled by a zeal for community enhancement, tourism, and sustainability. This year, he is joined by Daniel Draghici of Wise Factor, a veteran with 20 years in the entertainment sector, known for organizing The Fresh, Cabal, & Color events.

Daniel’s venture, Kaya Holistic, will enhance the festival by offering daily wellness sessions, including yoga, qi gong, pilates, and body movement, led by expert instructors. Additionally, the Atos Jiu-Jitsu team will provide immersive martial arts experiences, enriching both body and spirit.

What to Expect

The new venue, KOA Wake Park, is set to elevate the festival experience with a safer, more comfortable, and magical environment. Imagine dancing barefoot on sand and grass, feeling connected to both the earth and the music. Envision relaxing on lush grass amidst the tranquility of the mountains and the sparkling Lempes lakes. The venue also offers thrilling activities like SUP and wakeboarding, along with a fitness and calisthenics area.

Additional Initiatives

The festival is dedicated to more than just music and fun; it actively engages in NGO activities focusing on environmental concerns. These include river clean-ups, tree plantings, eco-friendly camps, and educational workshops on pollution, benefiting local communities and fostering environmental awareness.

For the past three years, a collaboration with the Univ. de Arhitectura si Urbanism Ion Mincu from Bucharest has involved students in local resource research, empirical observations, and the creation of practical installations for the festival, fostering a dialogue between students and mentors and promoting sustainable design practices.

With extended dates from August 1st to 6th, there’s even more time to savor each moment. Tickets are priced at €145 during the fourth release phase until July 31st, after which they will be available at the gate for €200. Free camping is included with the ticket, and glamping options are available for those seeking extra comfort.

The festival team sincerely appreciates your support and understanding as they embark on this thrilling new chapter. They eagerly await your arrival in Brașov to celebrate in this stunning new setting.
