Sunwaves Festival Starts Today in Spain

Sunwaves Festival kicks off today in Roquetas de Mar, Almería, and will run until September 8th. This is the Spanish edition, SW36, bringing five days of music by the sea, sunrise moments, and long sets from some of the best DJs around. People have been waiting for this all year and now the wait is finally over.

For anyone joining last minute, tickets are still available at the door. A day ticket for the dance floor costs €35, while backstage access at Stage 1 is €60.

To make transport easier, the festival has a special SW Bus Pass. The buses run every night from Thursday to Sunday, leaving every 30 minutes between 21:30 and 03:00, and then morning returns from Friday to Monday between 07:00 and 11:00, with an extra two hours on Saturday until 13:00. A single ride costs €6 plus tax and stops include Hotel Playaluna, Urba Hotel Ath, Urba Guatemala, Roquetas Puerto, Estación Roquetas and Aguadulce to the festival site.

The official timetable for Sunwaves SW36 covers all performances across both stages from September 4th to 8th.

Like always, Sunwaves is about the vibe. It’s not just about the lineup but the journey – marathon sets, music flowing until sunrise, and a crowd that feels more like family than strangers. This is what makes Sunwaves different from other festivals and why people travel from all over the world to be here.

So here’s what you need to know: Sunwaves SW36 runs from September 4th to 8th in Roquetas de Mar, Spain. Tickets are €35 for the dance floor and €60 for backstage Stage 1, with easy transport thanks to the SW Bus Pass. The music goes from sunset to sunrise and the Mediterranean is right next to you. For the next five days, time doesn’t matter – only music does.
