London’s electronic music scene has always been a melting pot of innovation and creativity, and at the forefront of this movement is DJ/Producer Rob Dallison, the mastermind behind the latest musical project, sLEdger.
Rob’s musical journey has been nothing short of eclectic, with releases under various monikers earning him recognition from esteemed figures such as John Digweed, Mary Anne Hobbs, Ashley Beedle, and Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1. His DJ sets have graced the stages of legendary UK clubs like Back To Basics, Elements, and Turnmills, where he’s explored the more experimental realms of sound in the back rooms.
The inception of sLEdger marked a new chapter in Rob’s sonic exploration. His debut release under the alias, ‘Softcastle’ on the Pegdoll label, garnered widespread acclaim from a diverse array of DJ luminaries. This initial success paved the way for remix opportunities with esteemed artists like Boy George and psychedelic rock band Strange Pill.
However, it was with the release of ‘Popper’ that sLEdger truly made waves. The track became a staple at Sean Johnston’s ALFOS parties, earning high praise and being hailed as “destined to be an ALFOS classic” by Johnston himself. ‘Popper’ was quickly snatched up by the highly respected Tici-Taci label, solidifying sLEdger’s presence in the electronic music scene.
Now, sLEdger returns with the eagerly awaited ‘Two See Balloons’ EP, showcasing a fusion of Progressive, Low Slung Electro, and House influences. The EP features an epic remix by the legendary DJ Nick Warren, with the assistance of rising star Nicolas Rada, adding another layer of depth and excitement to sLEdger’s evolving sound.
