Joseph Capriati, one of electronic music’s most sought-after DJs and producers, has been confirmed as the next artist to feature in Global Underground’s legendary City Series. The new release, titled GU47: Montreal, is set to drop on March 21, 2025, and promises to be a masterclass in musical diversity and skill.
Marking nearly 20 years of Capriati’s global DJ career, this two-disc release showcases his unparalleled versatility, combining house and techno in a way only he can. The first disc, Bright Disc, reveals Capriati’s house music influences with tracks from artists like Solomun, Louie Vega, Âme, and KiNK. In contrast, the second disc, Obscure Disc, delves deep into the darker, driving techno sound that Capriati is renowned for, featuring names such as Indira Paganotto, Len Faki, and Oscar Mulero. Adding to the anticipation, the album includes an exclusive track by Capriati himself, titled “Meandri”, set to be released as a single ahead of the album.
Global Underground founder Andy Horsfield expressed his excitement about Capriati taking the reins for GU47, describing him as “a perfect fit” for the series, which has previously featured electronic music heavyweights like Danny Tenaglia, ANNA, and Amelie Lens. Horsfield praised Capriati’s significant contributions to the electronic music scene, from his unforgettable sets at Amnesia Ibiza to his remixes for legends such as Adam Beyer and Carl Cox.
The release of GU47: Montreal continues Global Underground’s commitment to offering premium experiences for fans. The album will be available in multiple formats, including deluxe CDs, 3×12” heavyweight colored vinyl, digital and streaming versions, and a special limited-edition collector’s set.
